This blog post, created by a two elementary school teachers, describes a fun and interactive way to get students to learn about all the different battles that occurred throughout the Revolutionary War. Students split into pairs and spend time researching the specific battle they have been assigned. Each student is given a sheet to guide their research with suggested websites. The sheet has students answer questions such as who were important American leaders/British leaders, what where the casualties for both sides, the outcome of the battle, etc. After the students are done researching, they are to create a patriotic poster that contains all the information from the sheet they were given. The student groups then are to present their battle and their poster to the class. This is a great project for teachers to use to give student an overview of all the Revolutionary War battles. It also is a great way to have students practice their researching and presenting skills.
