This online simulation allows students to explore the properties of our solar system’s largest star: the Sun. This simulation is appropriate for students of all grade levels; however, lover elementary grade students may require additional scaffolding from teachers in order to fully engage in the simulation. The simulation takes students through various features of the Sun, including: sunspots, structure, the photosphere, the solar active region, the Corona, and the future of our Sun. The 3D interactive simulation allows students to explore these features of the Sun at their own pace.
