Elements, Compounds, & Mixtures

As part of the fifth-grade curriculum, students are typically expected to recite definitions of elements, compounds, and mixtures. In order for students to understand these concepts, they must experiment with these in their physical form. This article focuses on how to clear up the misconceptions about chemicals. typically, students believe that chemical reactions create explosions. This is something teachers should focus on throughout teaching mixtures. By showing everyday mixtures and reactions, students will understand how chemical reactions relate to their everyday lives. In addition, this article also gives many resources for teaching about these topics.
