This website provides students with a wonderful resource for calculating their own impact on the environment! Students do have to go through a quick registration process by giving their birthday, nickname, and the name of their school. Once they are registered, students are able to take an engaging survey and answer questions about their usual transportation, diet, and other components of their lives that may impact the environment. Throughout the survey, suggestions for how students can lessen their “carbon footprint” pop up. At the end, students can compare their results to those of other students in their school and country. It shows students a simple and colorful graphic that depicts how much CO2 they use. It is powerful for students to see the impact they have on the environment in a visual way. This resource would be great for a lesson on how to help the environment and is appropriate for students in kindergarten through 6th grade!
