In the article, the author describes what micro-organisms (microbes) are and divides them into 6 divisions: bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa, algae, and archaea. This website does not only provide information about the background and history of microbes, but goes into detail of each division and provides pictures of what these microbes look like under a microscope. This source provides a deeper understand of where each microbe is found and its cell structure. I find this website a very useful resource for teachers because it provides information on all types of microbes and uses pictures to show the differences between the divisions. This website is not only useful for teachers to touch up on their knowledge, but for students to explore, become familiar with, and recognize these types of microbes when utilizing a microscope.
