Globalization: An Introduction

This website is part of a unit plan. The lesson it features focuses on providing students with an understanding of globalization and how it affects their daily lives and actions. It begins with students evaluating the objects they have on them – cell phones, clothes, backpacks, etc. – to see where these objects where made. It asks students to recognize that these connections in trade are not new and have been impacting our world for a very long time. The lesson manages to connect the past and present in a way that makes it relevant to students and depends their understanding as well. This website is a great source for any teacher planning a lesson on globalization and can be used as a template or an idea to shape into something more appropriate depending on the grade the lesson is being geared towards.
