Paper Towers

This article suggests the learning goals that students should be able to identify when it comes to technological design. This article is used to describe an in-class project where students will be able to identify, design, implement, evaluate, and communicate technological design correctly and efficiently. This article shows the steps of how to build a challenging technological design to make it as tall as possible and is resistant to being blown over by the teacher. After the design is complete, they are asked to complete an activity sheet and after, there is time to test the tower and then possibly homework for the class depending how the lesson went. Students are able to redesign and rebuild their towers, which gives them a deeper understanding of technological design. This activity engages the students by making it challenging, but also adds a hands-on experience for students to have a complete understanding of the meaning of technological design.
