This is a great way to teach about the important people in any time period. Each student would research a person from the time being studied (e.g. for the American Revolution, students would research Paul Revere, Tomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, etc.). After writing their biographies, students would make large, paper cutouts of the person that they researched. This is a fun way to get students interested in specific people from history. This website has resources to supplement the writing portion of this lesson (such as graphic organizers) as well as examples of the hanger people that students have made. There is also a link to a Teachers Pay Teachers page to purchase the materials for this project.
