Volcanoes are typically an intriguing topic for kids to learn about. This website uses fun characters to help students learn and navigate the site. Students can learn about what volcanoes are, how they form, what happens during an eruption and the types of ricks they are made of.  They also get a look at the different classifications of volcanoes and the differences between those above and below water. This site affords students an introduction to terms such as downslope, extrusive igneous rocks, and tectonic plates. The site provides moving graphics and maps for visual learning and several links for continued research. This is a great resource for both teachers and students!
