WebQuest: Making Cell Function Come Alive Through the Use of Technology

Rasmussen, Clay. “Cell City WebQuest.” Science Scope 31.5, Assessment (2008): 12-14. NSTA, Jan. 2008. Web.

The author of this article focuses on the WebQuest as a fun, engaging, low budget activity to use with science students.  It’s also a great way to bring technology into your classroom.  The author highlights and entire lesson plan, complete with a purpose, introduction, procedure, and even a grading rubric.  The actual WebQuest that is used in this lesson makes the complexity of cell function much easier to understand with interactive simulations.  With the introduction of technology in the classroom and many schools having a one-to-one initiative, WebQuests are an authentic and fun learning activity.  Definitely an activity to try!
