Timelines are a great way for the students to get a broad overview of an event in history that spans an extended period of time. America’s expansion westward spans all the way from the Louisiana Purchase in 1803 to the annexation of Arizona as the 48th continuous state in 1912. This timeline allows students to roll over dates and look at blurbs of information to see how events during our expansion relate to one another. It looks that events like the addition of new states, wars, treaties, and conflicts with Native Americans. Students can also view the timeline in full screen mode or as a list – however makes reading it easier for them.
