The students in my cooperating classroom are learning about the many European explorers, like Jacques Cartier. This website gives a lot of information about Cartier, such as where he was sailing to, the colonization of Canada, things that did not go well (i.e. isolation, cold/winter, and scurvy), and more. This website also has maps and traces in red Cartier’s routes when he was on his voyages. This is a great visual for students to be able to see, so they know exactly where he went. The wording on this website may be a little advanced for younger students, so it will probably be more beneficial for teachers to review about Cartier. However, as I said earlier, the maps are a great visual for students, so that is something I would want students to look at.
