Curriculum Guide for Land and Water

This was an extremely detailed and helpful link that maps out everything that is needed in the land and water unit. This is not just a carbon copy of a science lesson plan but a legitimate curriculum based on the  STC Land and Water Science Kit. The link maps out critical questions and objectives that should be addressed within the science unit and even acknowledges common misconceptions that students have about the unit. The ability to go into a lesson already thinking about what challenges students may have allows you to prep in a deeper and more meaningful way. One of the major highlights of the link is pieces deliberate detail about how science notebooks can be used in the unit. Science notebooks have become a foundation of scientific learning, they give students the power to control their learning experiences. The application of science notebooks allow for students to communicate their own scientific understandings and the link recognizes this need.
