Social Studies for Kids: The 13 Colonies

This website has an interactive map of the thirteen colonies which is great for either students or teachers. The 13 colonies are highlighted in colors and you are able to click on each state. Once you click on a state you are brought to a separate page. This page contains information specifically about the state you clicked on. The information includes a picture of the flag of that specific state, their major industry, major cities, why the colony received the name it did, when the colony became a state, and even a link on more Colonial history of that state. There is also a chart at the bottom page that lists which category the state falls under which are either: the New England Colonies, the Middle Colonies, or the Southern Colonies.
