This resource is useful in teaching children about the rock cycle.  It explains that there are three different types of rocks; igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic.  The article provides an activity in understanding the rock cycle.  The article also explains that metamorphic rock is formed when igneous or sedimentary rock undergoes change.  It also goes on to explain that there are different types of metamorphic rock such as mica schist, slate, gneiss, quartzite, and marble.  The exercise that is provided allows children to create metamorphic rock by using different types of materials such as bread.  This resource will provide fun and exciting interaction for the children.
